Court issues arrest warrant against Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi in extortion case.

A Nairobi Court has issued a warrant of arrest against Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi.

The county boss has failed to appear in court severally in a case where four men reportedly attempted to extort him Ksh. 30 million, leaving the case in limbo.

The court now wants Kingi and another witnesses arrested and presented before the court on Thursday for further direction.

George Ngugi, Abdul Aziz Alim, Moses Musee Maluki, and Noah Akala Aduwo, who are Mombasa traders are accused of trying to obtain Ksh.30 million from Governor Kingi. They denied the charges.

The four suspects are said to have posed as detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), investigating an alleged misappropriation of funds.
