COVID 19 pandemic continues to rise in numbers of those affected and death rate keeps on going up, with Murang’a residents taking the pandemic as a joke where majority abandoned wearing of masks and keeping social distances.
Recently, a number of revelers were arrested while locked inside a bar taking drinks against the curfew hours.
Today, 23 other people were arrested among them boda-boda riders for having no face masks in their operation, with three bars closed while they were found selling liquor to their customers at 1pm.
Murang’a East DCC Virginiah Githumbi confirmed that people have been taking lightly COVID 19 rules and this has provoked the security personnel to make arrests.
She said that this is not a one-day operation but a crackdown that will continue for as long the pandemic exists amongst Kenyans.
